SOPPY KLAXON I DON’T CARE
I freaking LOVE weddings. Ask anyone I work with how my eyes light up the minute someone talks about going on a date. I love people’s crushes, being head over heels, people being in love and I LOVE weddings. Birthdays are one thing, but celebrating the fact that something so fleeting as kinda liking someone has evolved into throwing a party in the name of ALL THE STUFF THAT’S GREAT ABOUT THEM is something else.
Maybe it’s my Valentine’s Day birthday. I don’t know. Love is great.
In any case. When Tsouni (aka @yesitsallvegan) asked if I could give her a hand working out her vegan wedding food, I got way over-excited and sent her an entire menu of ideas. She came back and asked me if I could cook a lunch for her family straight after the ceremony instead. Of course I said Y-E-S.
So I enlisted the help of my boyfriend, we packed up the bare essentials from the Guac kitchen and hopped on a train down to Whitstable. We cooked for five straight hours, slept, cooked for a few more hours, and suddenly it was lunchtime and Jack and Tsouni were MARRIED. Cooking for a totally vegan wedding may not come around again as an opportunity, so I wanted to make the food as colourful, tasty and filling as possible. I hope I succeeded.
I didn’t catch as many photos of the day as I meant to because the wedding was like one great house party where new stuff like Club Mexicana serving tacos and tasty AF nachos for dinner, a pink glittery champagne cake from Ms Cupcake and piñatas kept on appearing, but trust me, it was awesome.
Congratulations Tsouni and Jack, and thank you for having Guac & Roll Kitchen play a part in such an incredible day.
xxxxxx Wishing you both all the happiness it’s possible to wish. xxxxxxx
