Well hi everyone! This is exciting. I’m excited. Are you excited? This weekend, KERB are holding the ultimate vegan rumble, Livin' on The Veg, at King’s Cross, on Friday and Saturday. If like me, you find it tricky to keep up with all the new vegan businesses opening in London these days (hey, I’m not complaining!) then this feels like the perfect night to tick more than a few off your list, and save yourself some time by not having to schlep across London!
Now, I’ve tried and loved Young Vegans’ mud pie brownies and Temple of Seitan’s fried ‘chicken’ and mac and cheese, but I have to admit I haven’t made it over to Spice Box, Greedy Khao, Eat Chay, Lem Lem Kitchen, Petare or Biff’s Jack Shack yet. What have I been doing with my time? Well, I am probably a little too loyal to Club Mexicana's tacos, and often get tempted their way when I have a spare fiver! But this Friday, ANYTHING GOES (and I'll be there with the Club Mexicana peeps so we'll be trying EVERYTHING).
I can’t wait for alllll the food! Spice Box’s makhani tandoori cauli steaks sound incredible and I am so excited for timtimo split pea afro-tacos! AND bánh mì baguettes with seitan!!
Tickets are now totally sold out for both days, which is sad if you missed them, but great news for vegans showing some spending power, right?! And it's going to be great to see what some of the younger vegan street food brands are doing for the movement in London.
So if you didn’t manage to get tickets this time, follow my Instagram account as I try all those stands out on Friday (with a little help from my date for the evening, Tsouni over at @yesitsallvegan), and hopefully the lovely people at KERB will run another one in the not-so-distant future after how well this one has gone down! I’ll also try to give a little review of each thing I try, in case you are able to get to any of the featured businesses anytime soon.
Oh, and if you’re there too, come and say hi!
See you later!
